Experiencing this icy end of the world was the greatest thing ever... and it was especially unique to be part of Antiqua's LAST voyage around Svalbard. As we landed our Zodiacs in places that will soon no longer be allowed to enter, there were no other ships in sight. Together with 30 artists from Alaska, Berlin, Boston Boulder/Colorado, Doha, London, Mexico City, Singapore, Toronto, Tulsa/Oklahoma, Virginia... to name just a few... I could experience this fragile, rapidly changing ecosystem. And how interdisciplinary the group was... fiber art, watercolor painting, drawing, writing, photo & video, sound design, music and performance - it was like a catapult for new unlikely ideas..

Longyearbyen with the wonderful Svalbard Museum & the Nordover Gallery or the 24 Hour Museum in Ny Alesund show the adventurous polar expeditions and mining history of the past. But for some time now, Svalbard has been developing more and more into a hotspot of the big melting and the climate change – with a historical dimension that is already visible.
